Bridges

Bridges
A bridge is a porcelain restoration composed of 3 or more teeth that is made to replace one or more missing teeth. A dental bridge is made up of two dental crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth in between. The dental bridge type you choose will depend on the condition of your smile, your financial goals, and the cosmetic results you desire.

Can I take it out?
The bridge is cemented permanently therefore it cannot be taken out of the mouth as you might with a removable partial denture.

Will I be without teeth in between the appointments?
A temporary bridge will be made and worn for several weeks until your next appointment. At the second visit, your permanent bridge will be carefully checked, adjusted, and cemented to achieve a proper fit. Occasionally Dr. Campbell may only temporarily cement the bridge, allowing your teeth and tissue time to get used to the new bridge. The new bridge will be permanently cemented at a later time.

How long will it last?
With proper care and regular visits to a dental office, a bridge usually lasts at least 10 years, many last much longer.
